Musing Mondays - Raved Reads

Musing Mondays is hosted by Should be Reading...

Some very thoughtful, serious Faeries arrived in the Giveaway comments and I thought "Musing" would go perfectly with them. Tell me they don't look "thoughtful"?

Thx for reminding me what ARC means, btw. It came to me after I'd hit "publish" yesterday. It is funny to call a book an ARC. I guess most of my Momma-world acquaintances don't know the cool lingo & I am not so good at explaining things out loud. (I'll take the written word over the spoken, thank you!!)

Are there any “raved reads” –books that everyone seems to be talking about– that you’re hoping to get read this year, yourself? What books are they, and why are you hoping to read them? Is it because you want to say you’ve read it? Or, would you have chosen to read it, even if you’d discovered it yourself, and no one was raving about it?

My favorite Raves are waiting for me already...
 * Daughter of Smoke & Bone
 * The Pledge
 * Divergent

I am rubbing their covers and smelling their pages while reading books I want to review already. :-)

I'm going to post my review for Girl of Fire & Thorns this week and I think it's an amazing book that hasn't gotten as much rave as it deserves. I read it pretty critically, ready to nit-pick it apart - probably because I'd just discovered Valente, who, well, OMG. But I still like it even after letting it simmer (do you let reviews simmer sometimes before publishing?) and that's a pretty big deal!!
