Heavy-Hearted

I need to pause... the more meaning something has for me, the quieter I get about it. So I haven't mentioned this week on the news, but I have a heavy heart. The interview with Taylor Dean helped.  As sad as it is, it helps to cry a little and remember that tragedy strikes without prejudice, from the youngest child to the Christmas shopper. Seeing the parents outside the school at that shooting on the 13th is desperately sad. My heart goes out to them. The Clackamas Town Center shooting effected us, too... some of those emergency response vehicles were speeding past my house to get there. One of the victims was a football coach, a friend of my son's football coach.

I don't mean any disrespect to the artist, but this song, Diamonds, has taken on new meaning for me in the last couple days. Every life is precious, however long or short it is. I think God cries with us like the footprints in the sand poem and I have hope that He will make all things work together for good one way or another, despite the horribleness. I am happy to join Victoria Scott and her pledge to be kind through the end of the month to everyone for no reason and despite every incentive to not be. I treasure the moments with my family. I remember the victims of these tragedies and I pray for their families. Kýrie, eléison.
