Join Trix Woodcutter on an epic new animal-filled adventure!

Fey magic and animal magic: that troublemaking imp Trix Woodcutter has both, if not the ability to use them to their full potential. While traveling with his companion—the golden girl Lizinia—to see the King of Eagles, Trix is sent a vision of the Faerie Queen, who is in desperate need of his help. An evil sorceress has stormed Faerie and trapped all the fey magic under the Hill, leaving the Faerie Queen powerless! Trix’s talent for communicating with animals is desperately needed…but before he braves the wild world of Faerie he must arm himself, with nothing less than the bow and arrows of a god.

With the help of his gilded companion, her ghost-cat godfather, a blind brownie and a sister or two, the Boy Who Talks to Animals must befriend a mischievous leprechaun, best a wolf, and journey into the depths of Faerie to restore order and free the fey magic before the imbalance destroys the world.

Trix and the Faerie Queen is second in The Trix Adventures and sixth in the Books of Arilland.

Fans of the Woodcutter Sisters: Desperate to know what happened to Saturday and Peregrine after they found Trix at the end of HERO? Here’s your chance!

Chapter 1: The Emissary (Part 6)

“I did not intend for us to meet like this, but time is short. Forgive me.”
Asking forgiveness instead of getting permission was something Trix himself had done too many times to count. He managed to force his eyes open. His head ached as he strained to focus in the new light.
“Where am I?”
This was no place he had seen before. No longer up a tree in the dark, color-melting forest, he now found himself stretched out on a grassy knoll. Wildflowers and clover sprouted in clumps throughout the meadow and brought with them the scent of spring…not autumn, as it should have been. Fat clouds floated by in a sky that seemed to have no sun—the world here was lit with a strange, unearthly blue light.
Trix dug his fingernails into the ground. It all felt so real, even though he knew it couldn’t be. And then he realized what was happening. “No, no, no, no, no. ABSOLUTEY NO MORE VISIONS!”
The woman shrugged. “Too late.”
Trix’s previous experience with visions had revealed his birthmother to him. She’d visited him multiple times, compelling him to poison his family and run away from home, all while she’d lain ensorcelled by a sleeping spell. He hadn’t seen her since visiting her body at Rose Abbey.
“This is ridiculous,” Trix said angrily. “A person should at least have control over his own mind.”
“I agree,” the woman answered. “One day, you and I will have a chat with the gods about such things. But this is not that day. Something terrible has happened.”
Trix considered all that he’d been through since running away from the towerhouse, culminating with his being trapped by a vision in a tree surrounded by furious magic. “Something terrible is always happening.”
He half expected the powerful woman to scold him for the flippant remark, as Mama would have, but instead she gave him the finest of smiles. She possessed incredible beauty—his eldest sister being the most beautiful woman in the world made Trix a more than adequate judge of such things. It was difficult to look away. Her eyes were a shocking violet that seemed to change with the light, flashing with either blue or red. Her brows arched dramatically above them like the sweep of a butterfly’s wing, lending her countenance a sense of both the wicked and the wonderful. Both her brows and her hair were black as the night and scattered with stars that seemed to twinkle—as her eyes did—whenever she moved. She wore a dress of flowers and fog and spidersilk and shadow.
The moment Trix put all the pieces together, he was too shocked to reply. What in the world did the Faerie Queen want with him? If this even was the world…on this grassy mound, surrounded by a ring of mushrooms. Even the mushrooms bowed, bonnets to the queen.
“Once upon a time,” the Faerie Queen began, much in the same way Papa always did, “there were dragons in this world. But that was a very long time ago.”
“So I’ve heard,” said Trix
“Along with them, high in the White Mountains, lived a race of people. They dedicated themselves to the beasts. In turn, the dragons allowed them the use of their magic.”

On Tour with Prism Book Tours.

Make Me a Match: Baby, Baby\The Matchmaker Wore Skates\Suddenly SophieMake Me a Match
by Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb, and Anna J. Stewart
Adult Contemporary Romance
Paperback & ebook, 384 pages
February 1st 2016 by Harlequin Heartwarming

Three bachelors turned…matchmakers?

One special night with Cooper Hamilton gave Nora Perry a precious gift. But no way is the sweet-talking salesman the right guy for her…or is he?

Former pro athlete Ty Porter could get burned when he falls for the beautiful reporter who ruined his career—and could now expose his most zealously guarded secret!

Gideon Walker has a long history with free-spirited flower shop owner Sophie Jennings. But when the banker-matchmaker fixes her up with potential candidates, he realizes he's made a terrible mistake…

Excerpt #2 -Baby, Baby by Melinda Curtis

“You don’t remember me, do you?” Nora Perry couldn’t help sounding angry and embarrassed. She’d traveled more than one hundred miles on a bus. It’d taken six hours instead of two. She was tired. The baby was tired.

And the witty, handsome man she’d met ten months ago with the mischievous smile? He wasn’t witty—he was speechless. He wasn’t handsome—his dark hair brushed his shoulders unevenly and grew from his chin in short, thick stubs. He wasn’t smiling—his lips formed a shell-shocked, silent O.

Coop led Nora to a tall wooden booth in the dimly lit, seen-better-days bar. She hung her parka on a booth hook, dropped her backpack to the floor and sat on the cold wooden bench too quickly, landing on her sit bones.

Zoe fussed, probably overheated from Nora’s resolve-melting mortification.

Coop didn’t remember her? Subtract fifty points from his man-appeal tally.

Last time Nora had seen Coop he’d had a stylish, clean-shaven jaw, a stylin’ opening line and a styled set of dance moves that would’ve qualified him for a spot on Dancing with the Stars, Alaska edition. They’d met at a bar in Anchorage last spring. Spring being a time when folks got a little nutty in Alaska because everything returned to “normal” for a few months. You didn’t have to wear parkas the size of sleeping bags or shovel as much snow.

“You don’t remember me, do you?” Nora repeated when Coop continued to be struck dumb. She was having trouble slipping off the baby carrier straps. Her lower lip trembled, much like Zoe’s did when her dirty diaper didn’t get changed quickly enough. “Am I that forgettable?” Her pride and her stomach slid to the floor. “Don’t answer that.”

Nora finally got the straps off and settled Zoe in the crook of her arm. “You had no trouble with words that night in Anchorage.” There. A clue. Perhaps the humiliation would end.

Coop couldn’t seem to drag his green gaze from Zoe. “I…uh…”

Or not. More mortifying heat flash-flooded her body. And when emotion flooded her hormonal, post-pregnancy body, which was often lately, her milk came in.

Could things get any worse? “We met at a bar.”

“Uh…” His gaze stroked her face and then dropped below her chin to the milk production department.

Award winning, USA Today bestseller Melinda Curtis writes the Harmony Valley series of sweet and emotional romances for Harlequin Heartwarming, and the sweet romantic comedy Bridesmaid series. A Memory Away is Book 6 in the Harmony Valley series. Brenda Novak says: “Season of Change has found a place on my keeper shelf”. Melinda also writes hotter romances as Mel Curtis. Jayne Ann Krentz says of Blue Rules: “Wonderfully entertaining.

Cari Lynn Webb lives in Alabama with her family. If she isn’t at her computer, she can usually be found: picking up her daughters from school, dropping off at swimming or soccer practice or running into the grocery store for that one thing she forgot on her shopping list. You’ve met Anna J. Stewart (or someone like her) before. She was the girl who spun in circles on the playground hoping her Wonder Woman costume would magically appear before playing cops and robbers a la Charlie’s Angels–as Sabrina (she was the smart one). Anna was the girl in the back of the class with a paperback romance hidden in her algebra book (and yes, she failed algebra).

Growing up in the 70′s and 80′s meant there weren’t a lot of YA books, so she ventured early into mainstream fiction and read Stephen King’s CARRIE at the age of 8. Discovering Nora Roberts and romance novels early in high school opened her eyes to the wonders of storytelling and the beauty of a happily ever after.

So here she is, many years later with an English degree from CSU Sacramento, an RWA Golden Heart nomination behind her, countless stories in her head, and a serious addiction to STAR TREK, SUPERNATURAL, and SHERLOCK. She recently wrapped up a nearly 8-year stint working as assistant to NYTimes bestselling author Brenda Novak where she helped run Brenda's annual online auction for diabetes research. When she's not writing or reading (which she never has enough time for!), she's working on dollhouse miniatures and tolerating her overly-affectionate cat named Snickers (or perhaps it's Snickers who tolerates her).

Excerpt #3 on the Guardians of the Heart by Loree Lough @PrismBookTours

On Tour with Prism Book Tours.

Guardians of the Heart
(Secrets on Sterling Street, #2)
by Loree Lough
Historical Romance
Paperback & ebook, 272 pages
August 3rd 2015 by Whitaker House

Nell Holstrom wanted no part of her grandfather's barren gold mine that had taken the lives of her mother, father, and younger brother; even if there may still be hidden wealth inside. Instead, she went to Denver and took a job as housekeeper at the old Stone Hill Inn.

Asa Stone was barely more than a boy when his father dragged him and his brothers to fight with Colonel John Chivington. But Asa refused to participate in the raid on the peaceful Cheyenne and Arapahoe; and when the smoke cleared, his father and brother lay among the slaughtered. Besieged by guilt, Asa wandered the West for years before returning to Denver to rebuild the old inn he'd inherited.

Together, Nell and Asa work hard to restore Stone Hill. But when disaster hits the inn, Asa retreats into despair and Nell is forced to return to her family's mine. Asa faces the hard fact: He'll never be the man Nell deserves. Can he overcome the dark secrets of his past? And will Nell still love him when she learns the truth?

Excerpt #3:

They carried their bowls to a nearby bench and sat down to enjoy the treat, and Asa realized immediately that they were facing the wrong direction. Fifty yards due north, he had a direct line of sight to where Gus and Nell sat, munching fried chicken, corn bread, and apple slices. Oughta be you sitting there, he thought. Distracted by the scene, he took a too-big bite of ice cream, and sudden pain shot across his forehead.

“Why don’t you like Mr. Anderson?”

“What makes you think I don’t like him?”

“You look angry, that’s why.”

Asa pressed a fingertip to the space between his eyebrows. “Took too big a bite of ice cream,” he said, “and ‘bout froze my brain.”

She nodded, but it was clear by the look on her face that his explanation hadn’t satisfied her.

“You know what I think?”

He took another bite, a smaller one this time.

“I think you’re sweet on Nell.” She shrugged. “That could be you over there, if you hadn’t quit bidding.”

She couldn’t be more than six or seven years old. From the mouths of babes? Asa thought.

“I like Gus just fine. I like Nell, too, because she’s a hard worker and earns every dollar I pay her, same as you and your brothers.”

Sophia tilted her head and studied his face, and Asa braced himself for the next line of her inquisition.

“It’s very good ice cream, don’t you think?”

As she scraped the last of the treat from her bowl, Asa decided this girl would go far, because she’d already learned one of life’s hardest lessons: Knowing when to change the subject.

“Oh look,” she said, pointing with her flat, wooden spoon. “Nell and Mr. Anderson are cleaning up.” She got to her feet and held out one hand. “Will you join us for Nell’s story?”

“I ought to get back, unlock the inn, in case one of the guests wants to get in.” One look at her disappointed face was all it took for him to change his mind. “But I don’t suppose it’ll hurt ‘em to wait a few minutes more.”

He let her lead him toward the bench where Nell and Gus had shared the box lunch.

“Asa,” Nell said, “it’s good to see you.”

As she left the house earlier, Nell had asked if he planned to attend any of the festivities. He’d given a noncommittal answer, so no wonder she seemed surprised to see him.

“Having a good day?” he asked.

“A wonderful day. And you?”

He tousled Sophia’s hair. “Better now that my little friend is with me.”

“Don’t tell Joey and Dom,” the girl whispered, “but Mr. Stone just bought me some ice cream.”

Nell met his eyes. “Oh, he did, did he?”

“Chocolate and vanilla, but if the boys find out, they’ll want some, too.”

Nell’s lips parted, no doubt to gently take the girl to task for the comment, but the boys’ approach prevented it.

“Listen to you,” Nell said, laughing. “You’re so out of breath, you can barely talk!”

“Did we miss the story?” Dom asked as Joe Jr. said “We’re not too late, are we?”

“You’re right on time,” Nell said, sitting in the middle of the bench.

The boys sat to her right, Sophia to her left.

“Where will Mr. Stone sit?” the girl asked.

Nell looked up at him. “You want to hear the story?”

Asa scooped Sophia into his arms and sat down with her in his lap. “We’re ready when you are.”

“All right then,” she said, and cleared her throat. “This story is called ‘The Astrologer,’ and it goes like this. There was an old man who believed he could read the future, written on the stars, and one night as he walked along, he saw that the whole village had gathered, and everyone was looking up at the sky. ’Oh my,’ he said, ‘it must be the end of the world!’”

The kids laughed at her rendition of the man’s voice.

“He was so busy looking up that he didn’t see the big hole in the road, and he fell right in. When he got to his feet, he saw that he was covered in mud, all the way up to his ears!”

“Was he hurt?” Sophia asked, snuggling closer to Asa.

“No,” Nell said, “but he was frightened, because the hole was slippery, and he couldn’t climb out.”

“What did he do?” Dom wanted to know.

Joe Jr. did his best to put on a brave face. “Bet he started caterwaulin’ like a bull moose. ‘Help! Help!’”

“You’re a funny boy, Joey,” Nell said, laughing softly, “and you’re also perceptive.”

“Perceptive,” Sophia echoed. “What does that mean?”

“It means your big brother understood what was going on, and had a pretty good hunch what might happen next.”

“Hush, little brat,” Joey said, “and let her finish, so we can find out if the old man got out of the hole or not.”

“I’m not a—”

“Pay him no mind,” Asa whispered near her hear. “I had big brothers, too, and learned the value of ignoring them.”

Sophia cuddled closer still.

“So as Joey pointed out,” Nell continued, “the old man called and called, and finally, the people in the town heard him. They went to the edge of the hole and looked in. ‘You pretend that you can predict the future,’ one man said. ‘Because I can!’ the old man argued. ‘Then why didn’t you know this hole was here, so you could avoid falling in to it!’”

“Those people were very perspective!” Sophia observed.

“Perceptive,” Joey corrected.

“Remember what I told you,” Asa said before the girl had a chance to retort.

Nell smiled at him, and he felt his pulse quicken as she went back to telling the story.

“’Maybe you’ll learn to pay attention to what’s right in front of you,’” the people said, “’instead of looking to the sky to predict the future!’”

Asa found himself nodding in agreement, just as the children were.

Nell reached into her apron pocket and withdrew a napkin-wrapped treat. “Sugar cookies,” she said, “for anyone who can tell me the moral of the story.”

One by one, the children licked their lips, then made their guesses.

“Watch where you’re going,” Sophia said, “and you won’t fall down!”

Dom blurted out, “Don’t expect to find answers written on the sky!”

And Joe Jr. piped up with “If you take care of the things that are important, and the things that aren’t important will take care of themselves.”

“I’m impressed!” Nell said, handing out sugar cookies.

They gathered close, accepting their treats, giggling and chattering like monkeys as they basked in the glow of her fondness for them.

Asa was impressed, too, and not just with the perceptive DiMaggio children. It seemed a shame that a woman with as much love to give as Nell hadn’t married, that she didn’t have half a dozen of her own young’uns. Seemed to him that what Denver needed was a whole mess of mothers like Nell, who’d raise children that grew into productive, respectful citizens with open hearts…and perceptive minds.

He was so engrossed in their playful banter that he didn’t notice the stranger, watching them from behind the shaggy trunk of a Buckley oak.

Starting over…again

It seems a lifetime ago that Brett Ackerman wanted to share his life with Ella Wales. He really believed he could put his abusive family history behind him…until he realized it would always be part of him. Then he pushed her away. Hard.

Now Ella's back as part of the High Risk Team at The Lemonade Stand, the unique women's shelter Brett founded. And she needs his help with a family crisis. But even now, Brett can't admit he still loves her. Until one night of passion with Ella turns Brett into the one thing he fears the most—a father.

Excerpt on the Tour:

His father had failed first.

And then, according to his mother, she’d failed, too. Brett didn’t agree with her assessment, knowing that when she’d lashed out at him the afternoon of Livia’s funeral, beating him on the chest with blows that didn’t even leave bruises, she’d been railing at life, distraught with grief, and clinging to him as much as pounding her fists against the wall he presented between her and her need to die…

She’d cut herself off from him after that day. And shown her son by example how to be accountable to the intense emotions that could be smoldering inside him. No one had been able to assure him that there was no chance he’d be capable of becoming his father. Of someday exploding. Just as no one had been able to guarantee him that those nightmares he’d had after Ella had finally become pregnant hadn’t been a warning from his unconscious mind.

“Small towns have big stories.” That was a lesson Katie’s father taught her years ago. A lesson she’s taken to heart. And right now, Katie is desperate for a big story. Reeling from the recent loss of her father and with her agent breathing down her neck for the next book, the twenty-one-year-old writer picks a spot on the map and finds herself bound for a middle-of-nowhere town called Bishopville, South Carolina.

Taking a chance on the words of a local grocer, Katie stumbles upon a rare breed of dogs raised by the town doctor and his nephew Kyle. The only problem? Kyle isn’t interested in telling stories—especially not to a big-city girl who can’t seem to sit still. In an attempt to win him over as the clock winds down, Katie finds herself immersed in Kyle’s world, doing everything but writing.

When inspiration finally strikes, Katie is faced with an unforeseen catastrophe and a truth she can no longer ignore. While she has come to love the dogs, the real story may be about Kyle Walker.

Excerpt 2 – Throwing Darts (page 7)

Standing back at the edge of her porch, all she could see was a plain white piece of paper taped to her wall. Still, she could aim towards the center of the map and hit Missouri, Nebraska, or Kansas. Or for the corners and land on Florida, Georgia, New York, Maine, Washington, California, and so on. So, she picked up the dart and turned her back to the map. Counting to three, she spun back around and let the dart go without hesitation. It wasn't a perfect throw, but it stuck solidly to the wall with a thud.
She pulled the dart from the wall, careful to reach around to the front of the map with one hand and mark the spot as she turned it over and set it on the porch floor. The small hole was in the dead center of a city she had never heard of in South Carolina.
The first drop of afternoon showers landed on the steps a few feet from her. Looking out again into the vastness of the deep blue rolling waves, Katie couldn't help but feel excitement at the simple thought of one word.
Bishopville.

EXCERPT 6

Chapter Three

The twilight skies hovered over them as they exited the canopy of trees. An area bare of foliage lay straight ahead. Ashley knew they were supposed to make it to the mouth of the cave by nightfall, but considering they hadn’t reached it yet—probably thanks to her short stride—it didn’t look like that was going to happen.
“What are we going to do?” she asked.
Arwan slowed to a halt and dropped his pack on the ground. “We need to make camp. It’s almost dark, and we need to collect firewood. This is a good spot for us to spend the night.”
Ashley sighed. “I figured as much.” She knew they’d have to spend the night in the cave at some point, but didn’t love the idea of sleeping near the jungle. They didn’t have any real shelter, and there were more bugs than she could fathom, all of them probably waiting for her to doze off so they could crawl over her face. She cringed. “What if it rains?” She scoped the last of the bare tree branches reaching toward them. “We’ll get soaked.”
“It hasn’t rained in weeks, and I doubt it will rain tonight. The skies are too clear.”
“Oh. Right.” She’d have to learn how to look for signs like that.
She rolled her shoulders back and let the pack hit the ground with a thud. Throbbing pain pulsed through her neck and upper back. “Ugh.” She reached across her chest and massaged the knot.
“I’ll gather firewood. You can get out your sleeping bag and—” He pointed to some rocks near the path. “If you can gather some stones and make a circle for a fire pit, that would be helpful.” He unzipped the hoodie he wore and tossed it beside his backpack, displaying his muscles packed under his T-shirt.
Heat spread through her body. She cleared her throat. “Sure, no problem.”
“I won’t be gone for long, but if anything happens, I won’t be far.”
She bit her lip in an attempt to suppress a smile. “Thanks for being so worried about me.”
He stood and examined her with a quirky grin. The way he watched her made her uneasy.
“Just be aware of what’s around you. Besides, you’re the guardian. You don’t need me around to protect you.”
He said that, but she knew he always would be. No matter what.

A long time enthusiast of things that go bump in the night, Theresa began her writing career as a journalism intern—possibly the least creative writing field out there. After her first semester at a local newspaper, she washed her hands of press releases and feature articles to delve into the whimsical world of fiction.

Since then, Theresa has been married, had three terrific kids, moved to central Ohio, and has been repeatedly guilt tripped into adopting a menagerie of animals that are now members of the family. But don’t be fooled by her domesticated appearance. Her greatest love is travel. Having traveled to over a dozen countries—not to mention an extended seven-year stay in Kodiak, Alaska—she is anything but settled down. But wherever life brings her, Theresa will continue to weave tales of adventure and love with the hope her stories will bring joy and inspiration to her readers.
