Musing Mondays is hosted by Should Be Reading...
Today's question intrigues me:
How many books do you read in a week? Month? Year?
I don't know.
I love to read & the idea that someone thinks they "Should Be Reading" is totally awesome, because for me, Reading is "fun", like chocolate or whipped cream = DESSERT and "should be" saved for after I work my way down my To-Do pile a bit.
I keep a book with my To-Do's - I make myself boxes to work through 'em. My honey & I own a business together & like taking risky risks, I guess, but the last big one sorta exploded with a lot of shrapnel which take a lot of time to sort out (while we try another, smaller one), so....
Reading is also a Survival Technique = something to think about at night instead of those looming things that won't let me sleep at night, stress-relieving, you know? Instead of how to deal with the IRS agent that called, I'm picturing how exactly that doll was fused to Pressia's hand so she can feel her knuckles under the blinky eyes. See? (Pure)
And then there's our four Treasures who thought it was way fun yesterday to wear slippery socks and race on the hardwood floors. They kept wrestling, too. It's hard to read while anticipating injuries and diverting energies. (Not impossible - I have some talent!) They eat a lot, those four, and go through laundry like I'm a full-time laundry service or something.
I get the least amount of reading done on weekends when we're all hanging out having Too Much Fun. The Packers are doing so well, it's become a family affair to cheer on Dad's team. Decorating the Christmas tree yesterday was a hoot, reminiscent of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation... including hanging as many twinkle lights as I could get away with all over the place and sipping from Moose Mugs we found by being FB friends with Clark W. Griswold.
So... I have no idea how many books I've read this year. I didn't think of keeping track. I have been averaging one a week since I started paying attention in November & I was attempting to NaNo, too, so I'm guessing 60-ish. That seems like a lot to not remember.
My favorite part about reading is stealing the time to do it, I think.
