I can't believe it's 2 1/2 miles under water.
I really can't believe it's been 15 years since the movie Titanic came out. I saw that movie with my Honey-to-be on our hyper-fast 13 week prelude to marriage!
I love that movie... I imagined I was that girl escaping a life planned out for me. My Life-Planners thought they wanted the best for me, but didn't really.... well. I love them, so I don't need to say anything negative so publicly. But I seriously loved that movie!!!
To honor this significant slice of history, I found some other bloggers to follow.
Miss Remmer's Reviews is hosting a Reading Challenge that also includes watching documentaries and movies. It's a cool idea & I love this button:
So far, we watched the documentary by James Cameron, where he pointed out how & why certain scenes were created in the movie and which ones they have since discovered were not accurate. It felt a little like he was covering his hiney for the sake of hard-core Titanic buffs. It was rather obvious that no one could really tell him anything when his mind was already made up, right or not. And I loved his final declaration that "no one really cares that the movie wasn't completely accurate, anyway." It made me wonder who he asked? But only because he was so very confident... and as I already said, I love his movie.
The Written Word is taking part in a lot of Titanic stuff all week over at Historical Tapestry...
Sobering.

Are you already doing something in honor of the Titanic? Are you going to see the 3-D version in theaters? Have you caught one of the many documentaries playing every night? How many times did you watch Titanic when it came out 15 years ago?!?!
