"Oh. My. Gosh. I think I am an official fan-girl of the Veil trilogy, this book was brilliant. Daniel Cohen had such an amazing way of describing Atlas Crown and all of its strange and magical features that I instantly fell in love... This Book was brilliant, creative, and completely magical. If you want an amazing book to read in 2012, I would suggest you go to the bookstore and pick up a copy of Masters of the Veil."

"Daniel Cohen has an incredible imagination. Masters of the Veil was literally busting at the seams with fantasy. It was coming out of my nose, dripping from the pages, and staining my fingers... Boys, girls - it doesn’t matter. Fantasy lover or not, I'm confidence this book will appeal to all!"

Colorimetry welcomes Daniel Cohen!!  Thanks for coming by for an interview & Giveaway!!

1 - What inspired your to write Masters of the Veil?

Mostly my love for Harry Potter. But also, since a lot of fantasy is centered around an outcast-type who finds his/her place in a magical realm, I was curious to find a fantasy novel centered around a popular, well adjusted person. I wanted to see if they would resent being taken from their great life and hate the new realm. I couldn't find it, so I wrote it :)

2 - What was your favorite scene to write?

The final scene. Unfortunately I can't tell y'all about it without giving away some major plot points, but it's very intense and my heart was pounding pretty hard while I was writing it.

3 - Can you share something personal?

I'm a professional tenor saxophonist. I just moved to Austin, Texas (hence the "y'all") to pursue my music. Austin is actually the live music capital of the world and has more musicians per capita than anywhere else.

4 - What are you working on now?  What's next?

After two years in the making, I just finished the second book in the trilogy called "Children of the Veil." I think I'll be working on reestablishing my social life for a while.  :)

Meet the Author:

Daniel CohenDaniel A. Cohen was just your average business student. Microeconomics, finance, marketing… you name it, he had to do a PowerPoint presentation on it. One dark and stormy night, he was bitten by the radioactive realization that memorizing business jargon could possibly be the most boring activity known to man.

After gaining eagle-eye vision, abs that could grate cheese, and a talent for imagining things (including his cheese-grating abs), he wrote his first novel and began his epic battle against the formidable business jargon. He continues to fight the good fight by playing saxophone and writing YA fantasy, forever hoping his Veil trilogy will help inspire others to join his cause
