Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce @ At Home With Books
So, the Faery Dance described in my Real Life Faerytale this week actually started out looking like this:
We'll call that the "Before" picture!! When I took that, I had visions of grandeur. Orderly dancers & no frosting on the ceiling. And... After two "golden" birthdays and three back-to-back parties:
There was a totally awesome Nerf Gun War!! And a Pinata! A BBQ & a trip to the Arcade w/ an enthusiastic impromptu singalong. TONS of Nerf bullets all over the place. I gathered as much partay as I could find into this big box of party leftovers
As I write, the two little 'uns are battling a bunch of balloons flying in a fan. Yep. Just get a fan going and blow up some balloons and put the two together w/ kids and you have instant entertainment. For Moms. Lol.
I'm so glad we've survived another Party Season. PHEW!! Until next June, then!!

Parties are so unpredictable...except you can be certain that there will definitely be a mess afterwards...lol
ReplyDeleteBut lots of fun was had by all, I'm sure.
Thanks for sharing...and here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT
Oh yea... we really outdid ourselves with the messes this year!!
DeleteThere is always a sense of relief when the party is done, looks like you planned a fun one!
ReplyDeleteRelief is almost my favorite part. Right after exhausted smiles on birthday kids' faces.
DeleteBalloons and fans. I actually want to see that. Glad you got through the party season.
ReplyDeleteI shoulda videoed that one, huh? It's a strong fan, so it was a very active game which required a lot of yelling. (My favorite. sarcasm thickly intended!)
DeleteKid birthday parties... the agony and the ecstasy. Glad you all survived and had fun.
ReplyDeleteHere's Mine
Lol. You sound knowledgeable!!!
DeleteThat's a very neat and orderly set-up in your "Before" picture. Impressive...even if there was little chance of it staying so neat!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?! I can't tell you how happy I am that I took a picture. I had HUGE intentions!! Lol
DeleteLike the before photo!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Saturday Snapshot post!
Looks like fun. I remember doing a party with my younger daughter where I let them bake and decorate little cakes, and everything throughout the house seemed to be covered in flour, sugar and icing! My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/vTUc8
ReplyDeleteLol - that's exactly it!! It's kinda sweet and fun, but sooooo sticky, too! (Plus, flour on the floor is super slick, slipperyer than water. Ya learn that sort of thing with little people!)
DeleteLooks like fun! I did a couple of craft parties for my sons when they were young, but mostly we did outdoor games. I think it would have been much different if we'd had girls, though.
ReplyDeleteOh yea. The Nerf gun war was mostly outside despite pending raining. The girls found Trinity's closet and made forts in the blanket pile with lots of giggles. Gender differences may not be a favorite topic of discussion, but I've had plenty of opportunity to see the Great Divide!! Lol
DeleteSounds fun and memorable! :)

thx for stopping by, Jess!!!! :-) Your blog is so fun!!
DeleteLooks like a fun experience for all.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I'm sure it was all worth it knowing the kids are happy and had a great time. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great party! I wouldn't mind a nerf war myself....Lol.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Snapshot.
I know, right? Fun stuff!! Those Nerf creators are really onto somethin'!
DeleteThat sounds so hectic and exhausting, but looks like lots of fun for the kids of course! :)
ReplyDeleteRIGHT! For the kids!!
DeleteI always wanted pool parties when I was a child, so all the mess was outside!
ReplyDeleteMesses never stay where they're supposed to, but lemme know how it goes when you try!! Lol
