Interview and Giveaway - Evie's Knight by Kimberly Krey

Premise:

When Evie falls in love with Calvin Knight, their young, virtuous romance conjures a truly wicked spell.

Evie always thought her eighteenth year would be magical, but so far it's not what she hoped for. Her best friend has gone wild, her love life is void, and she misses her mom more than ever. But life for Evie is about to change. Calvin Knight, the object of her fascination, is about to fall madly in love with her. Just one problem: Their love conjures a murderous woman from beyond the grave who wants Evie dead. The same demon who has haunted the Knight men for over four generations. Soon Calvin is forced to make a choice: Set Evie free and hope to evade the wrath of The Raven- haired Ghost, or use his newly gifted strengths to fight against her. If he chooses to fight and wins, Calvin will free the Knight men of this demonic witch. If he loses, Evie will become her next victim.

Colorimetry is happy to welcome Kimberly Krey!!  I love the cover and premise of this book... but it's this interview that hooked me. This makes me laugh, because it's not as if Kimberly is a chatterbox answering my questions. She gets right to the point with speed. I can't even write a introduction as precisely. Make sure to follow her on Twitter... she's also super friendly!!

What inspired you to write this story?

What honestly inspired me to write Evie's Knight is the sheer passion for reading. Once I entertained the idea of writing, the events of the story unfolded piece by piece in the most exciting way. I was hooked!

Yay!!  That, I can relate to!

Do you have a favorite scene?

Definitely. One of my favorites is Calvin and Evie's first kiss, of course. Those are what we call the payoff points, and I was sure to leave plenty of them scattered throughout the novel.

I like "payoff points", especially when they involve kissing.

Please share something personal about YOU!!  Pets? Favorite food? Secret passion?

Three things: I have two chihuahuas (Rocky and Adrian) that yap and bark to a ridiculous degree whenever anyone comes to the door. They're slightly annoying and highly embarrassing but I love them anyway.

I had to ask for pictures... Adrian is sleeping w/ his paws almost tucked to his nose... and Rocky looks delighted to pose in an outfit. Thx, Kimberly!!

I cannot relate to picky eaters. My favorite thing to eat is seafood, but I love just about everything edible; I consider that to be a gift.

My dinner-cooking methods would either irritate you or make you laugh. I think I cook at least three different courses for picky pallets. I WISH we'd all eat anything edible, but I'm guilty, too. (Sorry. You're answering the questions, not me.)

I have a secret well, not sure I'd call it passion, but definite like for rap music (and the rappers themselves, actually). I love the sound of rap, but since it's usually not clean I don't listen to it. I finally found an amazing christian rapper (I mean the real deal!) and fell in love. Best of both worlds.

Sweet!!  Music on Colorimetry!!

About the Author:

Kimberly Krey -

I'm a writer of romantic Urban Fantasy, a reader of any good, clean romance, and a lover of home, family, and friends. A perfect day would include ample relaxing time with my hubby and kiddos (indoor or out). Add delicious meals involving seafood, chocolate, or Cafe Rio and I'm on cloud nine. End it with a novel by one of my favorite authors, Marcia Lynn McClure, and it's picture perfect.

As far as movies go, I'm not sure it gets any better than The Notebook, The Lake House, or How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days - for chick flicks anyway. For family, my favorites include Elf (seriously, does it get any better than that?), Napoleon Dynamite, Overboard, The Grinch, Bedtime Stories, A Christmas Carol, Puss in Boots, and about one million more.

Interesting (or not) random tidbits about me:
I'm obsessed with chapstick. I spread SoftLips chapstick (the pretty pearly kind) on my lips about a hundred times a day.
I'm equally obsessed with mints; I eat them all the time. Altoids Smalls are my favorite. I smooth the lips, pop the mint, and I'm in good shape.
My favorite super heroes are Superman and Spiderman. I can't really decide between them, which is fine because my husband happens to be a scrumptious combination of the two!

  2. I love the plot description for this book, I need to add it to my never ending TBR :)

Negative on the rappers, and the eating anything - I have recently learned that apparently vegetables do not agree with me. I think the universe is trying to send me a sign.

I wish I had a chihuahua to pose for me, but I can't take on a pet right now, my schedule is super busy and it wouldn't be fair to the poor thing.

Thanks for the interview and giveaway!

    1. I know, right? I stacked it on top of my TBR, too, nice -n- comfy like.

Hilarious about the veggies. Sometimes me & "green" anything duke it out, so I sympathize. They're ruthless, them veggies.

    2. Too bad about the veggies, Alicia. I love to take broccoli or spinach, pour on (and by 'pour on' I mean 'drown veggies in') lemon juice and top with a nice layer of salt. Not because I don't like the veggies, but because I LOVE them this way. And guess what? So do my kids. All four of them. It's a very happy thing in our home. :)

  3. I'm a serious seafood fanatic too. I was born by the ocean and the hunger has never faded. Thanks for the great interview and synopsis, it's great to know some quirky things about others, don'tcha think?

    1. Ah... seafood by the ocean is the best.

I love hunting down the quirky stuff. Lol. Turns a book from "good" to "memorable"!! :-D

    2. Carl: I would seriously LOVE to see what it's like to live close to an ocean and enjoy that fresh seafood. I'm sure I would miss it too. As for the quirky things: Laura is very good at getting those details! :) Way to keep it interesting, dear!

  4. I like the cover. Yes, I love seafood and love doggies. I used to own the cutest little mutt, but had to give him away cause of allergies.

    1. They are pro's to havin' 'em and not havin' 'em. (Doggies, I mean, not seafood.) Sorry about the allergies, though. There are NO pro's to allergies.

    2. Thanks, Cyn. Too bad about your pup. If my husband didn't have cat allergies, I'd have one for sure. Still, I can't help but wonder if his "allergy" is actually a sheer dislike for cats. Just sayin'.

    1. Jess: I'm totally enjoying the picture of your pets in my head: You've got the howling husky, the chunky beagle (is it weird that I LOVE overweight dogs?) and some frisky little cat who thinks she's one of them. LOL! Pets are wonderful, aren't they?

  17. Thanks a million for the giveaway and for making it international. The cover got my attention- excellent!
I don't have pet dogs, but I did have a pet rabbit. Too bad it decided to hopped away from home :( apparently I'm not that good at looking after pets.
Rap music isn't exactly to my taste and I'm a bit picky with what I eat.

  18. So happy to make it international; I hate the idea of limiting who can get it. And I'm glad to hear you guys like the cover as much as I do. That makes me happy! Ash, you had me laughing about the bunny hopping away from home; that is crazy! I've heard there are places in the world (even the US) where stray bunnies roam the neighborhoods like stray racoons or foxes. For some reason I love the idea. Thanks for taking part in the giveaway, and good luck!
