Her whole life, it had just been the two of them. Before her
mother’s last breath, she gave Camille the information she had craved her
entire life: the identity of her father. Daring to contact him, Camille was
welcomed by an entire family she never knew existed. But nothing comes without
a price, as she discovers when her family claims a legendary heritage tracing
back to a Centaur touched by Zeus.
As she learns the secrets of her Centaur bloodline, she is drawn into a forbidden love with Drake. Her family acknowledges her life may be the blood debt required to pay for her mother’s transgressions. The same person who once held her mother captive, and forced her into decades of hiding, now controls Camille. Her only chance is to seek a piece of her mother’s past that will win her freedom and the life she desperately desires.

Let me start with a BIG FAT thank you, Laura, for hosting a
stop on the Blood Debt tour! I’m excited
to be here today! I hope you had a great
Christmas and I’m still thrilled that Mayans were wrong about the end of the
world this year.
Lol. We're happy about that, too. I've heard that we're just starting a new era, or something, and I'm ready to celebrate all sorts of New Things. Starting with a visit from you!!! Thanks for stopping by to visit, Nancy!!!
What
inspired your story?
That’s a tough one. I
had an idea for the flow of the story in my head and put it into my idea
notebook over a year ago. After I
finished the Destiny series this past January I decided I wanted to do
something really different. For a couple
of months I just let ideas flow, I knew what the character’s names would be, I
knew where I wanted the story to take place, and I knew how I wanted it to
end. The next big obstacle was deciding
what type of Paranormal creature fit with the story I wanted to write.
I love the
idea of a Centaur Line. . . where does it come from?
I love the Paranormal Romance genre, and I have read
hundreds of fantastic books about Vampires, Shape Shifters, Angels, Demons; I
wanted the Touched Series to be different from all the others. The easiest way to make it different was to
use a character that few readers had experience with. Before Blood Debt I can only think of two
series that incorporated them (Harry Potter and Percy Jackson) and the Centaurs
were far from the main character in both.
So I began to research: on the
internet, at the local library, I even chatted on-line with a college
professor. When I was ready to begin
writing, I really felt like this series could be amazing and a fresh novel for
others like me who wanted something different.
Yessss!!! I love paranormal romance... creatively different... and centaurs!!! Yay!
What is
your favorite scene?
I have several scenes that I love, but my favorite is a
funny scene. Camille is the main
character in the story and she’s talking on the phone to her best friend Daniel. She was attracted to someone she shouldn’t have
been and kissed him in the heat of the moment.
She needed to tell someone what she’d done, so she called her friend
Daniel who was less than supportive.
Here’s his response:
“You know, I saw that on the news last week. People walking down the street, minding their own business, and BAM their lips turn elastic and wrap themselves around a friend’s man. Happens all the time. It’s a side-effect from the ‘Stupid Pill.’ Must have refilled your prescription before you left’ town.”
Hopefully that isn’t taken too much out of context, but
that’s something only a true friend would be able to say and get away with!
Ah! I love it!! How sarcasticly awesome. Sounds like this best friend has other ideas of where her lips should find themselves. Lol. NICE!
Share
something personal! What are you writing now?
Where do you like to write best?
Personal? Hmmm *taps
finger to chin* I am envious of authors who are able to write multiple series
simultaneously. I’m not one of them – so
I don’t even try. I’m working on books 3
and 4 in the Touched series right now; both will release in 2013. I have a notebook full of ideas for future
novels, but I won’t begin to flesh any of those out until after the Touched
series is complete. The place I write
best is in a quiet dark room, but I share my life with three rotten dogs and
two imaginative sons, so having access to a quiet room is a rarity.
Lol. See... I love "quiet", too. Rarity makes things so much specialer sometimes. I "get" writing despite LIFE!! I can't wait to see books 2 & 3!! :-D Thank you for sharing with us!!!
Thanks again for hosting a stop on Blood Debt’s tour!
Always a pleasure. Mi casa es su casa, Nancy... we'd love to have you back any time. Thank you!!
About
the Author:
Nancy was born in Sioux City Iowa, left
the cold of the Midwest in 1991 and only returns to see family in the summer
time. She spent ten years traveling the world as a US Marine and settled in
rural SC with her husband and two children.
She enjoys reading all types of Paranormal and Young Adult literature – so long as there is a love story. She loves Starbucks’ White Mocha Latte and Mountain Dew, (but not together). She has a lead foot so she sets cruise control when she drives, even in 25 MPH zones. Nancy almost never wins when she plays Angry Birds, but keeps her 8 year old close, so he can clear the hard levels for her. She grew up on a farm and is opposed to eating fresh chicken (not opposed to meat - just opposed to any meat that was alive a few hours before lunch). Nancy has written five Young Adult / New Adult novels and can be found nightly on Facebook and Twitter.
