“A solid fantasy that wears its spirituality lightly yet effectively.”

Post 1 (Area 1): The Mountains, the Moors, and the Hills
If you ever travel north beyond the Black Mountains, into
the kingdom of Belenus, you will find yourself in a vast and varied land, a
country of laws unwritten, unspoken, and scrupulously obeyed.
Belenus
lives in the hill country, in a great and shining palace of silver and gold. He
is served in his palace only by his strange kin. No mortal lives anywhere in
those hills, nor do they travel through them except under the command of
Belenus. So take warning, my love, and set no foot in the hill country.
The Ushleen
Moors lie to the west, and there you may go. But why would you want to? There
are no roads through the bogs, nor over the bracken and stiff, sharp-edged
grasses. And you must keep far from the mines, those places of ill-luck.
The Anuin
mountains stand further west, the moors between them and the hills. In those
rough, strong mountains are the forges of the Trow, wondrously skilled in all
metalwork. If you will dream tonight, dream of the blacksmiths in their hot
forges.
And not, my
love, of the lonely muirs, or of the black mines, or of the Fay-lord in his
shining palace.
