She's loved Harlequin books since she spent summers going through her grandmother's Presents books that she passed along in paper grocery bags each year. As half of the writing duo J.K. Rock, Karen also pens young adult romance. When she's not busy writing, Karen enjoys scouring estate sales for vintage books, cooking her grandmother's family recipes, reinventing her gardens to suit her moods and occasionally rescuing local wildlife from neighborhood cats. BONESEEKER, is book one of the four book series, chronicling the adventures and love story of Arabella Holmes and Henry Watson.

My father was a history teacher, and throughout my childhood, dragged me across the United States, showing me historical this, historical that. Well....I just hated it. Till I didn't. As an adult I entered science as a profession, and somewhere along the way, after dissecting cadavers and exploring asylums, my own history obsession was born--albeit the weird science version.

All my books plop my characters into real, strange anomalies and events that happened once upon a time. Bella appeared in my imagination fully formed, and Henry wasn't long to follow her. As is his way...

I hope you enjoy reading it, and spending time in their company as much as I do.

1. What is your motivation behind HAPPILY EVER AFTERS? 

I actually came up with the idea for Happily Ever Afters while I was on a girls’ trip. Several of my friends at the time weren’t married and there were a few handsome bachelors at the resort. I started wondering what would happen if two people who didn’t live anywhere near each other fell in love. 

2. What do you hope readers take with them after they’ve read it?

I’ll talk about this in more detail during the tour, but basically this is a story of hope. My wish is for readers to walk away with a renewed spirit of hope and a belief that happily-ever-afters do exist. But sometimes you have to fight for both.

3. Do you have a favorite scene that you can share with us?

One of my favorite scenes is from the second half of the book when Lainey, the heroine, ends up at a karaoke bachelorette party with the antagonist. Pretty much everything goes wrong for our dearly beloved heroine, but it shows a lot of Lainey’s personality in the middle of a pretty funny situation. It might even make you want to grab a microphone and belt out your favorite song. Admittedly, I did when I was writing it. 

4. If you could sum the book up in one sentence, what would you say?

Lainey doesn’t plan on falling in love with a man she meets on vacation, but when her life falls apart, love might be the only thing that can save her.

5. Share something about you that is unique - maybe about how/where you write.

Here’s a fun fact: I like to write standing up. It helps me think. The best place to do this is in my kitchen with my computer on the counter. And if I’m standing at my computer in the kitchen, I always stand on one leg. Picture tree pose in yoga. My kids call it flamingo style.

 Rachel Magee wrote her first novel when she was twelve and entered it into a contest for young author/illustrators. Unfortunately, the judges weren’t impressed with her stick figures. So she dropped the dream of becoming a world famous illustrator and stuck to spinning stories. When she’s not busy working on her latest book, she loves to travel with her family and friends. By far, her favorite destination is the beach, which tends to work its way into most of her stories. Between vacations, you can find her at home in The Woodlands, TX with her wonderful husband, their two adventurous kids and a couple of spirited pets, all of whom share Rachel’s love of the ocean. 1. What’s the motivation behind your book? Why did you want to write it?
The original inspiration for Covering Home came from a call for submissions from a publisher. They wanted a novella set in Tokyo, Japan and it had to include a bat, a bell and an angel. I had visited Japan before and attended a baseball game, so I had some personal experience to fuel my imagination. But once I started writing, Britt and Caleb were such fun characters to hang out with, I couldn’t stop at a novella. So I wrote a clean, full-length romance with a subtle, inspirational message … exactly the kind of book I like to read.

2. What do you hope readers take with them when they read your book?
The nicest thing a reader can say to an author is, “I just could not put your book down.” When someone tells me that, I’m overjoyed. So I hope readers turn the last page with a contented sigh, yet wish they had just a little more time with the characters. On a deeper level, I hope readers recognize that I write from a Christian world view and God is a God of second chances, who can redeem us from hard seasons.

3. Do you have a favorite scene?
I have three. But if I had to choose one, there is a scene with the hero and heroine riding a Ferris wheel that is both amusing and romantic. I enjoyed writing it and I hope readers enjoy it, too.

4. Tell us something unique about yourself: 
I grew up in Alaska, which is somewhat unique. My parents owned a small business for most of my childhood and I find that aspect of my upbringing influencing the stories I write in so many ways including themes, character development, setting.
