The Beloved Angel/Warrior Team from Until Next TimeReturns!

When Matt and Emily are sent on their second mission they have no idea how truly dark human nature can become…

Emily never wanted to face humans again. With the heartache that went on down below, she’s still trying to figure out how to save souls that don’t deserve saving. The only one she wants to see again is Jason - the young man she fell in love with who became the soulmate she simply can’t forget…

Matt was trained to protect and defend the souls down below. Longing to feel the heartfelt emotions that come from being human, Matt wants nothing more than to have just one life - one chance - to live and love the girl of his dreams…

The powerful team find themselves in a brand new century, living in the Gilded Age of New York City. Emily takes over the body of Anya, a young Russian girl who arrives on Ellis Island after a hideous tragedy. There she meets up with a strangely familiar young man by the name of Drew Parrish, who helps Anya survive in an unknown world of luxury, snobbery and…obsession.

What Anya’s inner angel doesn’t know is that the soul she loves is also back. This time around Jason goes by the name of Max Carrow. Once a quiet and kind boy, he’s now part of the ‘Four Hundred Club,’ and wants nothing more than to be among the most admired as he climbs the shaky ladder of society’s elite.

As two worlds merge, Emily and Matt struggle under the weight of their “Gilded Wings.” Not only will they have to figure out who they should fight to save, but they must also face a romantic choice that could destroy them both.

Readalong:

Anya shook her head, completely confused with subjects of the heart. Reaching up, she twisted her long hair around her finger, pulling her hand away quickly as the oil coated her skin. A wave of revulsion hit her stomach. “I feel disgusting.”

Gregori smiled at her. “You smell funny, too.”

“Thank you,” she laughed, giving the young boy a shove.

Joe twirled a small bit of wood between his teeth. “There are showers here, like I said. And there are clothes bins so you can change into something clean.”

“They give you clothes?”

“No, they were left behind by people who didn’t...well...who didn’t make it.”

Anya placed a comforting hand on Gregori’s shoulder as she watched the tears for his lost father appear in his eyes. “A shower is a great idea. Gregori, let’s go find some clothes and scrub the stench off, as my babushka used to say. We don’t want to be dirty Americans, now do we?”

Gregori shook his head. “Lawmen aren’t supposed to be dirty, except when they ride the trail.”

Anya laughed, as Joe took Gregori’s hand. “I’ll take him, miss. We’ll meet you back here in half-an-hour.”

Knowing that she should panic at the thought of a stranger taking Gregori from her sight, Anya’s seemed to be at peace. Just by the kind light that shone from within Joe’s soul, she knew that Gregori would be returned safe and sound.

“Okay. You boys have fun.”

“Bye.” Gregori waved, following Joe into the crowd.

Favorite Romantic Super Couple?

I’m asked this question a great deal by readers, and my answer hasn’t changed over the past two decades. My favorite in the romance department will always be Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet. I loved the fact that both of them were prideful and more than a bit prejudiced of each other. Their rapport was so strong, and Elizabeth was so out of the ‘norm’ when it came to how women were supposed to act during that day and age, that their partnership was beyond memorable.

When speaking nowadays, the first to come up is the vampire and his Bella, but I still have to maintain that the original without the fangs, Romeo and Juliet, held more of an allure for me. Benedick and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing were also an amazing couple. Here, again, we had the sarcastic wit that ran between them as they tried to ‘one up’ each other at all times, until finally they both had to break down and admit that they were the only one for the other.

Soulmates come in all forms. As a child I though Leia and Han Solo of the Star Wars realm, had the most engaging romance. I mean, after all, he was the ‘scruffy looking nerf-herder’ and she was the princess with those odd-looking cinnamon buns on the side of her head, but for some reason, they clicked. Again, two extremely strong characters. Perhaps that’s what really makes a ‘super couple’ in the literary field - the fact that both male and female have the strength, determination and - most times - obnoxious wit that brings them together.

From Shakespeare to Austen to George Lucas, a good solid battle was what brought on the romance and heightened that stellar moment for all us readers and watchers out here. They had the most unforgettable lines and when they finally fell to the allure and magic of the other - it was unforgettable!

Matthew and Emily are that strength - that super couple with the power and determination to be the best at what they do. And when the passion ignites…when the gloves come off and they’re finally faced with the fact that they have to choose…I look forward to the fireworks!

Until Next Time, Everybody,
Amy

How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?

Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.

When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz's establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel's path and a warrior's plans.

From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that's ripping them apart.
