But it doesn’t take long before Caleb is battling his attraction toward Britt. While she works to uncover his secrets, she can’t deny she’s drawn to his wounded soul. Heroine Interview: Britt Bowen from Covering Home
What’s your favorite book?
I don’t have much time to read anything for fun during baseball season, but the last book I read that really stuck with me was The Help by Kathryn Stockett.
On a date, would you prefer an adrenaline-fueled adventure or a romantic candlelit dinner?
Oh, tough question. I love the adrenaline rush of a new adventure. But since it’s a date, I’d enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner.
What kind of drink do you order at Starbucks?
Venti skinny vanilla latte
If you could invite three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you choose?
Oh, wow. Only three? There are so many people I’d love to interview. My mother, because she died the day I was born. Obviously, we’d have a lot to talk about. Jane Chastain, because she was a pioneer for women in sports broadcasting. She must have some incredible stories and I’d love to say thank you for blazing a trail for those who followed her. Eric Liddell, the Scottish Olympic athlete, whose life story is portrayed in Chariots of Fire.
When you book a vacation, do you go to the beach or the mountains?
The beach! I’m a California girl.
Which baseball stadium is your favorite?
I think I’ve seen them all at this point, at least in the United States. I’m still partial to AT&T Park in San Francisco.
Tell us something unique about you.
I was the co-host of a morning talk show in San Francisco before I switched to sports broadcasting for professional baseball.
Do you have a quote that inspires you?
I have many. Here’s one I’ve focused on lately: “Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.”
-Ephesians 4:29.
My mouth can get me in trouble sometimes and this is a reminder to watch what I say, both professionally and personally.
What’s the best gift you could ever receive?
A long, relaxing weekend at the beach, preferably Santa Cruz or Monterey, California.
