Especially since I'm only reading at the speed of 1.5/week, which is how it gets for me when LIFE is crazy-busy. I should, should, reduce my intake to match my output, but that's just not how my appetite for books works. Lol. Before blogging I maintained my flow really well, but The Wonderful World of Blogging creates too many opportunities I just can't pass up!! Right? Right?!
I returned from vacation to three packages!! SQUEEE!!!!
I won Spellcrossed from Shara @ Calico Reaction, who wanted me to mention that I am a real person who really won a book from her blog which inspired my meanderings for the Freedom to Read Giveaway. One of my favorite things about these book blog giveaways is how they're REAL and I really do give stuff away and I really do win stuff. (At least, I think I'm real...)
Shara, you'll be glad to know I received the book!! (Thank you!!) You packaged it very well to survive moisture damage or theft - it took me forever to open the package, it was so well sealed!! Lol. I'm looking forward to reading Spellcast first, too. LOVE your review!!!
Packages that require two pix are the BEST, aren't they?! The Immortal Rules is signed by Julie Kagawa!!!! Bonus bookmark from The Iron Queen inside, too. *sigh* THANK YOU Jessica @ Confessions of a Bookaholic!! And Harlequin Teen!!
The bookmarks from Cole Gibson were also signed! Yay!! Thx!!! I can't wait to read her books Katana & Breathless. THANK YOU Devon @ The Crazy Dream Blog!!! I'm chatting with Cole, now, about an Interview and maybe some goodies to share with Colorimetry readers. :-D Yay!
I picked up too many other delightful treasures, too....
Valeria clued me in on this sweet deal, a prequel to the Covenant trilogy available for FREE!! I downloaded Daemen before I knew what I was doin'!! (almost) Go ahead... try it!! It's painless and SAWEEET!!!
Shana @ Sizzling Reads reviewed Eve on Goodreads HERE, and I liked her review, so I was commenting, reading the comments, etc, and found the link she shared to request Once from Edelweiss. WOOP!! I was all over that!! You know Once comes out Tuesday?! In a perfect world, I'd be readin' -n- reviewin' Eve & Once by Tuesday... but, uh.... I'm just glad to have 'em, K?
Every now & then a book pops up on NetGalley that I can't refuse like Palace of Stone. I know, I should, but I've been waiting to read this one since Shannon Hale mentioned she was writing a sequel to The Princess Academy. Miri is one of my favorite spunky heroes. She's faulted, creative, stubborn & tougher-n- nails. I can't wait to see how she takes on the capitol, not to mention maybe falls in love? Please?
This is the week of books I can't say "no" to.
I have no idea what Anna Banks', I mean, Anna Scarlett's, plans are for promoting her adult sci-fi, Degrees of Wrong, comin' out towards the end of August, but I'm spillin' the beans about it already. Tell me this isn't a GORGEOUS COVER?! I had to peak at the first chapter and I'm hooked already, to heck with my reading schedule (again!)
Now I'm embarrassed... I knew I got a lot of books this week, but this is a little nuts for someone not reading even two books a week right now...
I won an e-copy of Talented by Sophie Davis from Jennifer @ Reading & Writing Urban Fantasy & Paranormal Romance. This sounds so fun!!
Talia Lyons is Talented. She possesses the ability to read the minds of others and manipulate their thoughts. Ever since she witnessed the brutal murders of her parents, Talia has spent her life honing her abilities, with her heart set on vengeance. Now she is poised to face the man responsible, but duplicity causes Talia to doubt herself and her powers. In the wake of this betrayal, Talia turns to a boy who can mimic her Talents, a boy who truly understands her inner turmoil. But even he can’t help Talia when she’s forced to choose between saving herself or avenging the lives of her parents.
Thx, Jennifer!! Love your blog! Click on the picture or title to pick up your own copy of this awesome book for only $2.99.
