I feel like a delicious quote for this Kick-off, so I'm going to pick one from The Girl Who Circumvented Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making. I love this...
“Even if you’ve taken off every stitch of clothing, you still have your secrets, your history, your true name. It’s hard to be really naked".I like this because the essence of what is inside of us, the real person, cannot be removed easily. Not by taking a bath, certainly (as in the book). Not because of a few troubles - or even a lot of troubles. Even if I don't have my favorite things with me, I have my secrets. My history. My true name.
I guess that reminds me of one of my favorite quotes out of Revelation -
"I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it."Do you ever wonder what your True Name is?
I do... something about writing, maybe. Or maybe about my relationships 'cause my Cool, Man and Kiddledids are the best part of my life. In any case... it's a secret. :-)
Now that was a magnificent quote and I looove the title of the book, so magical. Thank you for joining in on Memorable Monday.
ReplyDeleteI love this quote. I've heard of this book before, and thought about buying it because of the name, but your quote made me even more curious. I think I'll have to read some reviews! *grin*
