Happy Sizzlin' Summer Monday!!

Do Mondays exist if the kids are on Summer Vacation?  Hypothetically I could sleep in, right?

Just the idea sounds delicious. Almost as delicious as the coffee brewing that draws me out of bed too early.

cup of coffee??If I must have a non-fancy coffee pot, then the least I can do is have one with a timer that automatically starts while I'm still in dreamland. I found a bag of Starbucks coffee beans in my freezer waiting for a summer Monday like today. I ground 'em fresh last night, set my timer... and rose early for a wee bit of quiet before my personal never-ending party wakes up.  *sigh*

Perfect for a visit 'round the kitchen counter! Pull up a barstool & let's discuss what we're reading!!

Sheila @ Book Journey has this great post every Monday to keep track of this sort of thing. Have you seen this new, slightly altered version for non-adult books?  I wasn't sure if I should list my current read with this linky, too (there's a lot of swear words!) but I recognized Captain Underpants right away. I have the whole set.  Believe me when I say bathroom humor gets boys reading. It works. Plus, it's funny.

Seeds of War (Eden's Root Trilogy, #2)
I'm reading Seeds of War and I don't recommend it for my kids. One of 'em kinda freaks out over end-of-the-world science-fiction, anyway, but I don't want any of 'em swearing like Fi. She's been thru a lot in Eden's Root, so it's understandable, just not accepted around the house. Lol.

Let's share a quote from it, shall we?  I'm still near the beginning, but the first pages are loaded with information and tension that answer lots of previous questions.

Escape in a Book hosts Memorable Monday just for awesome quotes.
"Fi felt a fluttering in her chest as she imagined the miles of devastating, unending wasteland; the dust so thick that ochre clouds rained down mud, the rocks exposed where the soils had been scoured away. Nothing but death as far as the eye could see. It took amazing courage to test yourself against that, she thought, suddenly feeling conflicted. It was kind of... impressive. She bit her lip."
This devastation is crop-related. Famine by disease-infested food. Isn't there a major crop failure in the midwest this year? They announced that on the news this morning. *shudder* It's all related!!

*sip of delicious coffee*

So, what are you reading?  Do you know what you'll read next?  I'm hoping to start Among Others next with Calico Reaction's book club. It looks great and I've never read anything by Jo Walton and I want to. I'm still mid-Iron Fey series, too - I'm up to The Iron Queen. Fun!!  PLUS... I might toss plans to the wind to read Palace of Stone b/c I've read Princess Academy twice and I love Shannon Hale's writing.  Delightful choices!!

coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffeeDo you ever save some coffee for an iced treat in the afternoon? Iced coffee with cream and sweetener is amazing. I might try blending mine today. Maybe a little chocolate syrup and whipped cream should be added to my shopping list?  Just for my coffee, of course. Yum!!

First Monday in July - Welcome!

June is crazy for me, so I welcome July with open arms!!  It's the first Monday, and I say "Hi, July!!" *waves*

What did I read in June?

Um....

I read Half-Blood & Scarlet. I want to cry over all the reading that might have happened that didn't, but that is how June goes for me every year. I get buried in birthday parties and end-of-school events.  This year we added Armchair BEA & a Road Trip.... plus moving my husband's shop & planning how to re-arrange the house.

Ugh.

That's what I'm working on, now, moving & cleaning. This past weekend, I moved ALL OF MY BOOKS, well... almost all my books. I'm really happy about this bookshelf line-up under a big picture window... and I claimed a tall shelf almost exclusively for my current fav's and Burgandy Ice fun.

Oooh.... wanna see a picture?  Trinity posed for me. Lol.

It's Monday, What Are You Reading?  is hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey.

I've been reading The Iron Daughter this week. I finally got a little book light so I can read at weird hours in weird light. It doesn't work as well as my Nook, of course, but that's a high standard to compare a lowly book light to, even if the clip says "Montana" on it.

You know what's totally WEIRD, though?  Have you read any of the Iron Fey books?  *ahem*

This book light has the bright LED light and this bendy wire so I can adjust it.... and it gives me the serious CREEPS being attached to this book.  I look at my book light and I see this:
"I caught glimpses of things moving along the walls, flashes of blue light, like erratic fireflies. A moment later, I realized they were gremlins - hundreds, if not thousands of them - scuttling over the factory like ants. The blue lights were the glow of their fangs, hissing, shrieking and baring teeth at each other. A chill ran through me, and I shivered." Pg. 314 The Iron Daughter
*shiver* I've never named any of my doodads before, but it's time to come up with a creepy iron fey gremlin name for my book light!!  :-D

Memorable Monday is hosted by Escape in a Book.

So, I know what you're thinking... how could a "Reader" not even finish three books in an entire month?!
I'll ask a question back... where did June go?  Tell me that!!!  What a weasley month to go scrambling out of my reading reach by cramming itself full of life. I am innocent, I tell ya!!

And, I did critique a smidge and write a chapter or two. (Barely)

Bother.

There's no excuse.  I maintained my Reader Status by carrying lots of books everywhere and being absent-minded so people had to ask me questions twice before I heard them.

I'm just happy that it's July and the month is loaded with reading possibilities.  I've already started Degrees of Wrong on my Nook so I can leave the gremlin-thingy alone for awhile, although I have The Iron Queen sittin' here watching me with glowing blue eyes.

Hey... what should I name my light?
You got a good creepy-crawly name idea?

Monday, Monday!!

Splash Into Summer Giveaway! In Response to the latest comments...

The responses to the Splash Into Summer Giveaway make me want to cry... I mean, so many people have lost some sort of digital content.  But this comment takes the cupcake so far... if we were handing out prizes for craziest disaster, YOU WOULD WIN, April!!!!  Not sure how prestigious that is, but being chosen by lightning has to be worth a cupcake, at least!!  Please, have one for all of us (with a cup of tea, of course!)

~April~Monday, May 28, 2012 1:53:00 PM PDTI have had several computers to crash but I think my worst experience was when my house got struck by lightning and took out my computer, router, modem, external harddrive, phones, TV and everything else electronic in the whole house. :-)
I felt super-bad about ~Enamored Soul~'s story, too. She paid to get your info back, only to find it was irretrievable. UGH.  See... that sort of thing makes me so glad to have geeks for relatives. My bro laid it to me straight... "You can pay $120 to try and retrieve data, but you have a 50% chance of not retrieving anything. Up to you." I have my broken hard drive in case I remember something I simply can't live without, but until then.... I'm recovering from the blow and movin' forward.

You know?

I mean, I'm totally suspicious of all things digital and backing up my back-ups, but Onward Ho!!!

Armchair beaSpeaking of which, is anyone else doing the Armchair BEA?!  :-D  Woohoo!!  I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'M IN!!!!!!

I think there's gonna be cool interviews and swag & books to win and fun stuff, which I can "attend" in my PJ's. I'm all about hangin' out in PJ's as long as possible!!!

If you're IN... register over HERE.  Or fill me in on how to join in on all the fun. I'm like an enthusiastic top spinning in circles, ready to go, but not sure which direction. Woopee!!

It's Monday, What Are You Reading is hosted by Book Journey.

I'm reading Failstate, of course. I'm still finishing Insurgent (I might break a record on the longest time reading such a fast-paced book.) I'm critiquing a book that I WISH I could talk about... I so seriously LOVE IT!!!!  And, of course, I'm writing mine. Which is also rather exciting, if I can say that about my own ms.  (That's a little weird, isn't it? I get all trembly exited, anticipating the next scene as it flies off my fingertips, so that counts as "exciting", right?  No promises of delivering all the trembles to the paper, but that's sort of the plan. *ahem* Theoretically.)

Next book?

I don't even want to go there.

I'm carrying around so many books that I can't wait to start, it's ridiculous. I nearly snarled at the gas station attendant again for not taking longer to fill my gas tank. Forty bucks just doesn't take long to pump, anymore, what with all the great gas prices and all. (If I could paint that sentence with the color of thick sarcasm, I would. Oh, why do I need an SUV?!  Oh right... 'cause we had so much fun having kids, we grew out of economical rides. But that's a bunny trail for lazy Saturday.)

Memorable Monday is hosted by Escape in a Book.

This week I'm sharing a fun confrontation from Failstate. All the heroes are in costume, waiting to talk to reality show cameras about a recent tragic death.
Kid Magnum roared and took another step back. Barrels popped out of his wrist plates and he took aim at me.
I lashed out with my power to form a destructive field that was flat and thin, like a knife blade. I drove it between his armor plates.
A second later, most of Kid Magnum's armor clattered to the floor, the straps cut from within. He froze, his head tipped at the pile of metal at his feet. Pg 83
I get a kick out of the cool super powers mixed in with such normal people, like Kid Magnum watching his cool armor clatter to the floor. A few pages later, they're negotiating who's going to pay to replace the cool wrist guns and the benefits of keeping backups handy. Just cracks me up.

Takin' my Time on a Fine Monday!

Memorable Monday is hosted by Escape in a Book.

From Becoming a Butterfly pg 110 on my Nook. I posted a review & author interview (and giveaway!) this morning. I like this quote for showing the tension... how Lacey gets herself in trouble and how Mia Castile writes so playfully. I had to laugh at "China"!!
butterfly"I cringed for three obvious reasons. 1. Henry must have heard Chase and knew someone was in my back yard. I imagined him and Byron suddenly communicating using military hand gestures and a form of sign language. 2. Chase was standing over my backside with me in this  swimsuit. 3. It was only a matter of minutes before Henry realized I'd been here the whole time. I wanted to disappear under my lounger, under the deck, under the ground, and come up in China."

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Book Journey.

Somebody is going to want to strangle me. So... before you do, please hear me out!!  And then maybe I'll help you!!  Lol.

I started reading Insurgent last weekend, right? Remember? Mother's Day gift?!  Yea. Awesome.

Well, then I posted about writing my book and some (possibly insane) volunteers stepped forward to read it. And, OF COURSE, it needs a lot of work. But it's also worth working on. So... Um... my brain was whisked away until I realized I was reviewing Becoming a Butterfly by this morning. (Please see my love of schedules and reviewing in a timely matter in previous posts.)  Ok... so I'm trying to find a quiet moment to finish Insurgent, because I keep crying. (What? I might be extra emotional this week. What of it?!)

teaOnly every time I get a quiet moment, I want to WRITE. And then I got sucked into Becoming a Butterfly... which, um, don't tell anyone, but I'm still finishing. I almost snapped at the gas station attendant this morning when he interrupted me to give me my receipt. It was NOT a good stopping place!!  (Please refer to potentially emotional week!) (No, we can't pump our own gas in Oregon, but it makes for a great reading moment. Sometimes I get in the long line to have a longer moment.)

So... I'm in the middle of both of them as well as Shadow on the Wall, which I'm scheduled to review Wednesday, I think. (Kali!)  Failstate is after that, 'cause it's due Monday.

BEA Authors Studio PodcastWho is scheduling for me?! How am I supposed to write while reading and reviewing all these books?!  What about getting ready for Armchair BEA?! And TWO birthday parties PLUS four kids getting out of school for the summer AND a trip to Yellowstone?! My scheduler ought to check in with me.

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)Ok. I can totally hear a reader wondering WHY I need strangling? Lemme spell it out for you. I took a book that should be read in one sitting even if it's over 500 pages and turned it into more than a week. It makes me feel ill just to think about it.  Except... there is the wee little tiny part of me that just doesn't want it to end. Like, maybe if I "can't" find the time, I can drag it out just a little longer. It's just, I really like Tris... and the writing is so deliciously incredible!  Oh, why does it have to end?!

Musing Mondays is hosted by Should Be Reading.
Uh... happy Victoria Day anyone!  (?)

This week’s musing asks…
What do you do with the book before you start reading it?

Before reading, I usually do a lot of background checking on the book & the author. I read the premise and skim reviews on Goodreads. I find the author's sites and see what they like, what else they've written. You know, nose around.

Rest by Deborah DeWit.I do this especially for review books, 'cause I hate saying something really dumb like, "woops! I guess I don't like your book at all!!"  Yea. I try to catch that reaction before I have it and avoid it altogether.

When I receive a gift or browse the library, I check out the cover, the review quotes, a little bit of the premise and the author blip.

When I review or highlight a book, I stalk the author everywhere, 'cause by then, I feel like I know them.

Memorable Whatya Reading?

Memorable Monday is hosted by Escape in a Book... a chance to share a very particularly meaningful quote. I rec'd Insurgent this weekend (thx, Honey!) and I've teared up often.

Tris has some difficult struggles in this book, which don't really surprise me. Divergent ended in such a rush of action, there had to be consequences, but Veronica Roth delivers them like blows.
"I lean against the wall, my eyes on the floor. The tiles in the Merciless Mart are always black and white, and here they are in a checkered pattern. If I unfocus my eyes, I see exactly what the Candor don't believe in - gray. Maybe Tobias and I don't believe in it either. Not really.
I weigh too much, more than my frame can support, so much I should fall right through the floor." Pg 212

It's Monday! What are you Reading? is hosted by Book Journey.

And I'm so glad you asked!!!  :-D

I had just started Shadow on the Wall on my Nook to review... and I gotta tell ya, it's really great writing, very gritty and full of mystery & pain & seriously bad guys right from the very beginning!!

I had just finished The Lure of Shapinsay, which is another wonderful review surprise. I didn't know anything about Selkies or the folktales of a romantic Lure and beautiful people inside seal skins. Krista delivers this tale... well, I'll have to review it soon, won't I?!

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)So... when I rec'd Insurgent from my honey - Cool, Man - for Mother's Day, I thought I'd just have the very smallest peek on the first page, you know, just to see what I'd be looking forward to. Just the tiniest, very littlest of peeks!!  So, I'm totally innocent that I fell right inside the book. I mean, I never get to read on the weekends (hardly) so getting so much sunshine and reading time was LUXURIOUS and suddenly I find I fell right in and I find myself on Pg 321. Oops?

And next up is Becoming a Butterfly, Eve & Changeless. I think I figured out how to review Changeless... it's gonna be different than my usual. Sort of like my review of Immortal Rules is going to be different. Only... uh, different.  I've got a couple of great giveaways comin' up this week, too. So I have lots of posting to do. How fun!!!

annabanksboxI'm going to have to post separately for Monday Mailbox 'cause I got THE WEIRDEST box in the mail from Anna Banks. You're just not going to believe it. She is NUTS!!

No really. She's crazy.  And I'm going to share!!!!

:-D

Mailbox Monday, What are you Reading?

Ok... my memes are getting all sloshed around and I don't know how to participate in all of 'em or keep them separated by day or hour or subject or something... or not.

I think Martha's Bookshelf is hosting Mailbox Monday in May... which is MARVELOUS!  (Gotta love M!)

And this past week was quite Merry for getting More books!!!

Yay!!!  Sweet Evil arrived!!  THANK YOU Kelly Vitollo!!!  (And the Mmmlovely SM Johnston who hosted the giveaway way back when!! Which research reminds me I also rec'd Sweet Evil Swag!!!  Oh yea!!)  (I've got it here somewhere...)

Sweet Evil

You know that super-awesome Fairytale giveaway hop last week?  I might have gone a little crazy entering giveaways... and I'm so happy to have one TWO!!  Ha!!!
Rose Daughter
by Robin McKinley
my favorite!!!

Won from Books Beside My Bed:

This is Karen's lovely giveaway decor, ogle with me!

And from Rachel Van Dyken:
The Ugly Duckling Debutante
Yum!!!
The Ugly Duckling Debutante

For Review:
I'm hyper-excited about this book... 'cause it's from Edelweiss, which is Above the Treeline... (which does NOT make any sense!) which looks so simple and easy to request books from, but I always get denied and I've never figured out why... and then all of a sudden, this beaut arrived in my in-box. A YES!

The Sweetest Dark

A YES for me with mysterious billows of white and purple and a sleeping beauty and... okidoki!!

The weird thing is... New Arrivals have very little to do with what I'm reading.

Weird.

Hence... the all-important Monday organizational...

It's Monday! What are you Reading?
hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey

Honestly, this meme is like an anchor telling where I'm at and where I'm headed. I know that sounds co-dependent. What of it?!  (And anchors aren't directional, their more like weights. What's wrong with my metaphors today?!)

Last week I finished Immortal Rules & Shatter Me - I know... how awesome is that?!  Plus a short story by Erin Hoffman that I actually reviewed already.

I started Under the Never Sky and Eve... and then on my Nook I began The Lure of Shapinsay. 'Cause it's not dystopian, if you must know.  And yes, I'm aware that I'm still in the middle of Changeless. And The Iron Daughter... except I have a feeling that I won't be able to put The Iron Daughter down, so I had to wait 'til after the book signing Friday to begin it or else I'd've never started Under the Never Sky and Eve, which I wanted to read.

And why is Changeless lingering so long, you ask?!  Humph.  I don't know!!!  It's that I can't review Soulless and that really bothers me!!!  What?!  Haven't you ever had a book whose review eluded you?!

Alright... CONFESSION TIME!!!  Which book has been the hardest for you to review this year so far?!

Go ahead, share!!  I might not repost your answer!!

Memorable Monday is hosted by Escape in a Book and we share memorable quotes we've found while reading.

And here's a quote from Shatter Me just in case you haven't read it, yet.
"For a moment we're just staring at each other, breathing hard until I'm blushing, until he closes his eyes and takes one ragged, steadying breath and I place my hand on his chest. I dare to trace the outline of the bird soaring across his skin... 'You're my bird,' I tell him. 'You're my bird and you're going to help me fly away.'"
Ah, the significance of the bird, the bird they never see flying anymore. *sigh*

Monday!! The best EVER!!

I'm very excited for this Monday... I've already called the school and they're ready for me to arrive with my World Book Night box of books for the verifiable reluctant readers.  What a great program!!

I got my third choice - I think. I don't remember what I asked for after Hunger Games, and I signed up so late that I am just happy to participate! Since I've never read Ender's Game, I'm slightly at a disadvantage to work up my non-reading crowd into a reading frenzy. So I called in a favor!!

My 15 yr old nephew, Elliott, recommended the book to me as one he really enjoyed, which is how it ended up on my request list in the first place. I requested a "review" to share with some fun ideas (fun for me, anyway, since I love reviewing!) and he responded ("or else" per aunt). I love his thoughts on it... and they're just what I needed to be all enthusiastic. I'll post his review tonight with my WBN update!!!!  WOOP!!!

It's Monday, What Are You Reading... the best discussion on a Monday morning imagineable, hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey

The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1)I just finished The Iron King - wow!!!!  I wrote my review immediately and it's so unique (the book AND the review!)  I can't wait to post it.

I have to HAVE TO read The Iron Daughter. Immediately!!!

But I also need to read my new library arrivals so more people can enjoy 'em. And I simply MUST read Shatter Me, Under the Never Sky & Eve before the authors come to Clackamas, Oregon!!!!  Woop!  And my next book for review is Interrupted - fun!.
Clackamas - pronounced "clack" as in "black" "uh" "muss", strongest emphasis on the first syllable. Most likely of regional native American origin, like lots of names in the Northwest. Population easily exciteable, likely licensed weapon-carriers, land-owners, odd livestock owners. Those within city boundaries don't quite know what to do with the responsibilities. (Un-proven opinions by short-term resident.)
What's funny is hearing the TomTom pronounce "Clackamas" - sounds like she swallows the word. We crack up every time!

Nina & Ladybug over at Escape in a Book have a GREAT quote hop every Monday. Pick a great quote and share in the fun!!  Today, in celebration of World Book Night, they're giving away a book up to $15!!  SWEETNESS!!!

I'm quoting from The Iron King, one of those incredible moments between Meghan & Ash:
"Ash still held my hand. Gently I tried pulling back, but he wasn't letting go. I glanced up, and found his face inches from mine. My heart stumbled a bit, then picked up, louder and faster than before. The prince's expression was blank; nothing showed on his face or in his eyes, but his body had gone very still.
I liked my lips and whisptered, 'Is this where you say you'll kill me?'
One corner of his lip curled. 'If you like,' he murmured, a flicker of amusement crossing his face. 'Though it's gotten far too interesting for that.'"
*shiver* I really, REALLY loved every moment these two were attracted to each other despite themselves. Just their attempts to ignore it is delightful!!

M is for Monday and Meme

You gotta LOVE Mondays, right?

No?

Me, neither.

At least, Book Journey starts the week pleasantly by asking about BOOKS!!

Soulless (Parasol Protectorate...I finished Soulless... and dove immediately into Changeless  (review forthcoming!)

Changeless (Parasol Protectora...This series is DELIGHTFUL. I love the wit and humor. Alexia is such a wonderful character... but I'm not reviewing right now...

I had to *pause* to read The Quaker State Affair, as a scheduled Tribute Tour stop. I didn't think I could tackle it in two days, which is all I left myself, but it was a zippy read for being such a solid book (in weight & topic!)

Heart of GoldAnd then I jumped into Heart of Gold on my Nook and it's cute!!  Hooked it's claws immediately, so I'm meandering through it quite happily, although I also picked up Calvin Miller's poetic retelling of the life & ministry of Jesus, since it was Easter week and the poetic side met me right where my contemplative side was hangin' out. (See below!!)

Angelfall (Penryn & the End of...When I finish... all of these books I'm in the middle of, I might get around to Angelfall, but it's very likely I'll continue with Alexia on into Blameless as well as pick something entirely new.  OR... maybe start my next scheduled Tour stop so I don't have to read it all in a day!!  That'd be The Kingdom on the Edge of Reality.

Musing Monday is hosted by Should be Reading...

What do you think are the top 5 books every woman should read?

Lol.

As in specifically a "woman"?!

1. Created to be his Helpmeet

You're going to think I'm crazy, but this old-school book about being a wife taught me a TON about how men think and what they value and what strengths I have as a wife & which things I shouldn't obsess over, etc, etc. I read this WAAAAY before I got married & made so many decisions that benefited the both of us from football to peanut butter to sex. I don't agree with everything in the book... but it's never too early to read something as thought-provoking & inspiring & potentially life-changing, not to mention, learning how to "spit out the sticks" of stuff ya don't agree with. Worth it!!!!

2. Jane Eyre &/or Pride & Prejudice

Of course!!!  Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but what great inspirations for being a woman and standing for personal values while discovering true love!!

3. Books by Robin McKinley or any other author who believes in the power of being a woman completely disconnected with the world of men. Like Sunshine or The Blue Sword or Deerskin. Her women are powerful, complete beings that don't need to be rescued!!

4. Fiction written by men - pick a man's fantastical book. Like The Lord of the RingsThe Name of the Wind, or The Game of Thrones. Soak up the love of action and the cluelessness of women's emotions. Climb inside a man's perfect world so they make more sense in day to day life. (jajajajaja  - Am I getting myself in trouble here?!)

5. Whatever floats yer boat, draws you into imagine the wildest, most amazing possibilities. Vampires, werewolves, fairies, angels... WHATEVER. Let the imagination go wild and free with something fictional. Spark creativity and let it flow into your daily life. These books would be whatever just pulls you in irresistibly.

Who was that who said that if you want your kids to excel read them fairy tales? Einstein?!

That's what I think.  I am not very good with lists 'cause (as I discovered with that Left Brain/Right Brain test last week) the possibilities are endless, as are the right answers. bleh!!

Singer Trilogy

This  Singer Trilogy is hugely quotable...

"If she has loved him, a man will carry anything for his mother - a waterpot or the world." Singer pg 30

"Come to the court of God having eyes unwashed with dreams and you will see nothing." Finale pg 81

MmmmmmonDAY

Oh... it's definitely MONDAY!!!  Is anyone else reeling from the time change?  We all had to get up soooo early this morning. Bear & Trinity were ready with coats and shoes on, but still missed the bus.  (It comes back by - yay for me!!)

Our Cam was up in the middle of the night, sick, so some of us didn't even get all the sleep hours available between the time we could force ourselves to sleep and the time the alarm declared it was morning.

Some of us read a little, too, shortening that time even more.  Oops.

It's Monday, What are you Reading is hosted by Book Journey...

LegendIn my defense, Legend got really exciting, so that I couldn't put it down, but I had to. It's possible I finished it this morning before getting to my taxes.

Starters (Starters, #1)Starters is very different, for also being labeled a "dystopian". When I couldn't fall asleep for thinking about Legend, I read Starters. That doesn't make sense, but that's what I did.

So... I'm still in the middlin' of Starters and at the beginning of Soulless... and slowly meandering through The Scarlet Pimpernel.

Next up: The Day of First Sun or Lies Beneath, maybe Intangible or Halflings or maybe Changeless!!  Maybe I have no idea.

Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading:

This week’s musing asks…
What book do you wish you were reading right now? Where would you take it to, if you could go anywhere to read for a while?

This question inspires me to turn on some Dr. Seuss:

In a chair, on my bed, across the couch, near my love's head.

I would read this here or there, I would read it anywhere!

I would read it on this pillow, I would read it in a willow, please, oh please, just let me read, you do my taxes and I'll simply read!!!

Under the table, on the kitchen counter, outside in a gale, while rotating laundry... if I could I would, I would, I would, I would!!!  You could do my taxes for me, you could!!!

Um... that applies to any of the above-mentioned books.  *ahem*  And, um, yes, that was spontaneous, so excuse the horrible rhyming 'cause I really do need to get to work.

Finally, I leave you with a great quote:

Hosted by Escape in a Book:

"Why 'Day'?
Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means everything's possible again. You live in the moment, you take it all one day at a time... You try to walk in the light."

This is from Legend, pg 304.
