I haven't gotten new books for weeks and weeks (it feels like). I've been trying to catch up on some reading, but I tell ya, I was gonna bust out of that constricting plan at any moment, and I went a little crazy this week. I got more books than I read, so it's a good thing I'm participating in a Read-a-thon or two!!! The Dewey Read-a-thon is giving me a BOOST which will continue as I participate with Tiffany at Book Cover Justice all week.
The following delicious reads were accumulated on my Nook or Kindle-on-computer:
(click on the cover to add to see Goodreads!)
I posted an author interview & link to free download of Thoughtless this week. In case you need to add this pretty cover and story to your own collection!!!!
From NetGalley for review:
From the library:
Oh... and I can't forget 20 copies of Ender's Game ready to pass out to the "Success" class of reluctant readers at the local midschool!!!! I'm so happy to be able to participate in World Book Night!!! What's awesome is, there were over 20 boxes of books still waiting to get picked up from my nearest Barnes & Noble... so my Northwest neck-o-the-woods is getting lots of books for this wonderful event!!! I can't wait to follow up on all the success stories!! I'll be linking up to Sheila's list over at Book Journey with other Givers by Tuesday morning. I hope I can get a picture of the mid-schoolers with their books!!! Woop!!
I like to review what I did this past week... sorta helps me keep my brain straight. (And I need all the help I can get!!!!)
* Review & Giveaway - The Kingdom on the Edge of Reality by Gahan Hanmer with Tribute Tours
* No Strings Attached Giveaway of Graceling by Kristen Cashore
* Top Ten Tuesday Blogging Tips
* Author Interview with Jacqueline Gardner, FREE download of Thoughtless & giveaway for Jade
* Wow - Review & Author Email - Of Poseidon by Anna Banks.... she's so funny!!
* Packaging Books - ideas for fun
* Showers of Books Giveaway - 5 $5 Gift Cards!!
* Read-a-thon plans!! with Tiffany at Book Cover Justice
* Snapshot - a girls' view of a carshow
* Faery Party ideas!!! (for The Iron Knight). Mini-challenge with Book Journey
Ah... now see?! Now I know why I had so much trouble adding more reviews and author interviews this week!!! Lol. I was wondering if I was falling behind, but I'm not even counting the Winning post on Wed or the Feature & Friday fun... or the Small Blogs, Big Dreams Giveaway!! (I think that one ended last night?) So I probably need to cut back a little to fit all the wonderful author interviews I got ready to go up. So many things to post, so little time. Hilarious.
Thanks for stopping by, Sunday Saloners and everyone!! Happy Earth Day!!

I'm trying to decide whether to give out my copies of Because of Winn-Dixie to second graders at my school or to take them to our sister elementary school. I'm leaning toward my school.
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! Fun choices! I'd lean towards your own school, too, but what fun choices!!!!! :-D
DeleteAh, yes, Earth Day! Thanks for the reminder...
ReplyDeleteIt's nice weather here, today, but when I look outside, I'm afraid. Blossoms everywhere, lying about on the ground; my allergies will flare!
Here's MY SUNDAY SALON POST

That is a full mailbox. I have Amaranth in my TBR and looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm doing World Book Night too.
What book are you passing out? Can you email me a picture?! burgandyice at live dot com
DeleteI just noticed your reply. Sorry, no pictures! I commented on your afterwards post.
DeleteI'm participating in World Book Night! I'm really excited. Although I would be more excited if I got my first picks...I got my third pick and I haven't read it! So I won't be able to sit there and gush to the people about it, haha. I started to read it but I won't finish it by tomorrow. It's okay! I'm still excited.
ReplyDeleteI actually don't think there's very many people participating where I live, but maybe they just got their boxes delivered somewhere else. The bookstore I picked mine up from on Monday only had 3 other boxes...
I'm so jealous of you getting Immortal Rules. :) I'm not super into the vampire craze, but every review I've seen of it so far makes me want it now now now.
Clockwork Angel is my favourite book by Cassandra Clare. It was the first one of hers I've ever read and I really prefer it to the MI series. I tried reading Clockwork Prince a while back but after having read CA then all of the MI and trying to go to Clockwork Prince two months after all of that, I totally forgot everything and kept mixing stuff up. So, I have to re-read it or at least skim through the last few chapters and pick up CP again. So don't make my mistake and read out of series and then try to go back! Haha.
You said all that stuff about your World Book Night book AND THEN DIDN'T MENTION WHAT IT IS!!!!
Delete*___*
What book is it? Where are you passin' 'em out? Can you send me a picture?! burgandyice at live dot com
Thx for all that scoop on Clockwork Angel... I was picking up another book at the library today and saw Clockwork Prince there and nabbed so I can read 'em back to back. Big books, but if they're that good, they'll be glued to my side for a while!!
Oh, I passed out The Kite Runner. I didn't pass out all of my books :/ it was in the 30s and raining all day, and I had planned to walk a few places but I managed to give away about half of my books or more. So I'd say it's a success and I am so much better prepared for next year now though! Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be sunny and warmer so I'll get my last few copies out.
DeleteOoh, The Kite Runner!! Nice!! That's an interesting story. I read the manga version after seeing the movie, which is a lot like cheating, but fun, anyway.
Delete30s & raining sounds very icky. We've had the oddest warm weather for April ever, but I'm not complaining. The entire state is in a good mood!
Great mailbox this week! I can't wait to read The Immortal Rules!! I'm jealous that you got Clockwork Angel - I can't wait to read that one too!! Amaranth looks good - I'll have to check it out. Happy reading!
