Right or Left Brain?

Ok. So... since Bloggiesta, I've been thinking of how to clean up my sidebars more. And I'm trying to organize my reviews in categories with their own pages... visually, of course, 'cause I'm a visual person and I hate written lists. Of course!

And I saw this post from Wading thru the Oceans of Life about this brain test.

I had to laugh... and take the test!!  No wonder I have no idea what category to put these books in, for cryin' outloud!!  I might as well have "Fav", "liked-a-lot" and "whatever" titles for as much sense as genre titles make to me.

Hey... maybe if categorizing stuff is easy, you could tell me what to file these under...
Replication The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey A Great And Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray Redemption in Indigo The Last Unicorn The Girl Who Circumvented Fairyland in a Ship of her Own Making

Fairytale retellings?  Sci-Fi?  YA?  The Last Unicorn is under Adult at my library...  Wha?!?!

Or better, yet... take this test first and prove you can assist!!  Lol

Here's my awesome results:

Brain Lateralization Test Results
Right Brain (68%) The right hemisphere is the visual, figurative, artistic, and intuitive side of the brain.
Left Brain (32%) The left hemisphere is the logical, articulate, assertive, and practical side of the brain

Personality Test by SimilarMinds.com

It's not my fault!!! They asked if I'm RANDOM, SCATTERBRAINED & MESSY... uh, hello!!!

Go on... I dare ya!!  Take the test and see if you're as nutty as me or need to help me get organized!!!

Finish Line - Ole!!

No lo puedo creer!!!!

Yego el fin, y aqui ando bailando!!!

(Enough pathetic attempts at writing in Spanish w/o cool accentuations!!)

The thing about me and lists..... is I tackle 'em.  (I use 'em to trick myself into cleaning house and nasty stuff like that.)

My brain is fuzzy from the effort, but you'll see I'm sportin' a new BANNER!!  Seriously... I could strangle Photobucket. It shut down my computer and then lost my cute tediously added designs. I gave up two or three times, but got back on it 'til I WON!!!

Ha!

Ha-HA!!!

What do you think?  Should I go back to NO banner?  (If you say "yes" too quickly, you'll get my growly side. If you don't like it, wait to tell me 'til tomorrow). I made the new little button with the gazebo, too. The books... well, the books were super cute, but Photobucket completely lost my embellishments. I might find 'em later. Heck... I'll take a picture of my own stack of books with my own cup of tea... if I dare stack it on top of books!!!!  Yikes!

The drawing of the girl was created by Donna Smallenburg, who's art I LOVE!!!!  Some day I hope to interview her and post her thoughts on how she comes up with her ideas to draw.  You gotta see Arise, Shine. *sigh*

In fact, I periodically browsed Pinterest and I think that saved my sanity.  Maybe I'm exaggerating a little, now... it was easier to design a banner than close a mortgage, to compare!!  Lol. But I'll browse Pinterest with very little provocation, so, there is that.  (I started  a new Board "Pass it on!" so I can repin giveaways and great posts from other book bloggers... make sure to follow if you don't already!!)

So, what else did I get done?!

1 - I hope I fixed my Feedburner by transferring the Candlewax post to the Hollow Reader's site. It's possible that my readership just dropped drastically after that great author interview, but that doesn't make much sense. More likely I transferred html code that I didn't know what it was and redirected my stuff somewhere else or some such.

If I'm dreaming, let me know. I had my tech-bro look over my posts recently and I was cutting & pasting too much and messin' with blogger's feedburner opinion of my posts. It has rippling consequences - messin' with that stuff.  Sheesh!

2 - Design - oh yea!!

Colorimetry

3 - I wrote up a Review Skeleton - with all my pieces that I like to include in my reviews plus some stuff I forget sometimes. I even added a reminder not to get so crazy I chase readers away!!  (Just in case anyone's reading!!)

4 - I removed the Google add from the Kick-Butt post 'cause I can only have 3 Google ads per page. I guess they're at the bottom of my posts, now. I did not do that!!!  (They have a mind of their own!!  (?!))

5 - I'm still figuring out how to host authors and books and giveaways without reviewing them all. I have a very good reason for trying to free up a little time!!!  Not this week, though.

6 - My "Have a cup of tea" idea sounds so fun.  Um... to me, at least!!!  I'll refine it a little more and post my first (or second?!) this week!!

7 - I did more stuff... like threw the old couches out on the lawn to be hauled off on the yearly "haul anything" day this week. They were so busted!!  Now I'm sitting on cushions on the floor, but it's more comfy, believe me!!

That's it!!  I'm done for tonight!!

Hasta la vista!!

Bloggiesta!

Hey... Ole!

It's All About Books is kindly hosting this git-it-together weekend for bloggers workin' on their blogs. (Complete with enthusiastic music & tweet partays.) Weekends are super busy for me, but I'll get this stuff done (eventually). First off, sharing the plan!

I'm doin' stuff, like....

1. Figuring out where my feedburner thingame went. I threw it off track, I think, not for the first time. I copy-n-paste a lot and some formats don't fit in smoothly for some reason. humph.

2. Design!!!

      - new button?!

      - (the elusive) banner!!!

3. Figuring out my format for hosting authors & books... that aren't reviews, but more like interviews or highlights with giveaways. I need a system so I don't confuse myself, especially if I'm going to give more books away. ( Yikes! Already there!!)  Then I need to respond to a bucket load of review requests and update my About Me & Sidebar for receiving requests again.

4. Fix my Google Advertising... I think I threw it off, too.  :-)

5. Could I write up a skeleton review outline so I don't forget to discuss the cover 1/2 the time or suddenly leave off the rating?  Is that too much to ask?!?!

6. I'd like to set up a casual setting, too, where I can dump thoughts regularly. Um... not like "scheduled" regularly, more like randomly regularly. I was thinking about that with the "Have a cup of tea" title. I love having friends over to sit around and chat over a cup of tea - or very fine coffee!!  And that's what I was thinking, something along those lines.  Very visit-y.

I can't stop with 6 things... that's an even number. Let's see..... (yes, I realize I gave 8 books away - drove me crazy. I nearly kept a book just to oddify the numbers.)

7........   Think of something else I need to do.  :-)

Go ahead and give me more suggestions. I can take it.  *bracing for impact*  Or leave me a comment if you're bloggiesta-ing and I'll swing by to get inspiration!!

Apologies!

To Subscribers of Colorimetry...

I'M SO SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was getting some html training this morning and "updated" various posts a few times, which means you got multiplies sent to your in-boxes and I just wanted to make sure you knew...

THAT WAS NOT NORMAL and won't happen on a regular basis.

I wish I could announce that I understand html now, but mostly I understand that

1. Blogger is transitioning

2. I copy & paste excessively &

3. My Facebook page is a PAGE, not a person.

Grf.

It's just that I lost major chunks of my blog temporarily, which threatened to cause wide-spread panic in my mini-sphere of LIFE. Sidebars... GFC... posts.... POOF!  Luckily, they poofed! back, too.

If anyone's having trouble following or entering or finding anything on my blog... I blame Blogger. They're updating their systems in March, with all their GFC clearing-house and stuff. Please be patient 'cause I don't know what I'm doing well enough to move!!!!

There's a generalized Update Party coming up at the end of March. I shall attempt to refrain from "updating posts" or anything 'til March 30th, at least.  Hey.... join in the fun, ya wanna?!
